Dear Volunteer,

Thank you for expressing your interest in volunteering with Union County Habitat for Humanity. There are many ways that you can get involved and we are always looking for good volunteers. We have volunteer opportunities in our ReStore, on Habitat building sites and in our offices. We are starting two new houses this October and are looking for volunteers on both building sites at this time.

On Habitat construction sites we begin our day at 8:00 am and work until about 5:00 pm. You will need to bring a bag lunch or $5.00 to purchase your lunch at a local restaurant as we cannot provide a meal for you during the workday. We will be working Tuesday through Saturday on these projects but many of our volunteers can only come out on Saturdays as they work during the week. It would be great if you wanted to come out and work with Union County Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat has tools available so you will not need to bring anything with you. If you prefer to bring your own tools you are free to do so, at your own risk. We will ask you to sign a waiver of liability form when you arrive on the site. You must be at least 14 years of age to volunteer on a Habitat construction site due to NC and OSHA regulations. You must be 18 years old in order to handle power tools or be up on the roof.

Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer with Union County Habitat for Humanity. Please call me at 704-296-9414 or 704-254-3013 if you have any questions.
I look forward to working with you as we provide safe, affordable housing for the citizens of Union County.

Sincerely,

Mike Reece
